Community Health Champions
Statewide Challenges. Local Solutions.
Community Health Champions is a unique program that provides opportunities for city and community leaders to explore in-depth how they can fight obesity across Idaho.
This program brings a limited number of these leaders together several times a year to:
- Learn best practices
- Collaborate with other leaders
- Act to make big ideas happen
CHC Participants Learn from Nationally-Known Experts
Champions Make Change
We believe that local leaders are best positioned to make the biggest, most immediate impact on reducing obesity — and increasing healthy lifestyles — in Idaho. Community Health Champions was created to support them in these efforts.
Community Health Champions brings together leaders to learn best practices from the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health and nationally-recognized experts. These experts discuss topics ranging from historical changes to the importance of the built environment — and just about everything in between.
Community Health Champions provides a rare opportunity to work closely with their peers on a single issue — obesity reduction — in an environment that is focused, open and synergistic. The conversations are candid. The mission is shared. And the diversity of our participants leads to valuable insights with the power to have real impact.
Ideas without action don’t change anything. That’s why Community Health Champions concentrates on helping participants move ideas forward. Sometimes this means funding. Sometimes this means planning. But it always means having a bias for action in order to have impact.
