Each month, we Take 5 with one of our partners who are on the journey with us for a healthier Idaho, healthier future. This month: Albertsons Dietitian Molly Tevis.
1. What is your go-to healthy snack or meal?
Some of my recent go-to healthy snacks have been a piece of fruit and a handful of mixed nuts, a yogurt or carrots dipped in a scoop of peanut butter.
2. What are your favorite forms of exercise?
I enjoy a variety of exercise — going for walks or jogs with friends, group classes such as barre, pilates or strength training. I get bored easily and like to change it up, and I feel exercising is always more fun with a friend. Having a workout buddy or going to a class helps push me to go that extra step!
3. Where is your favorite place to be active in your community?
Hands down, the greenbelt. Fresh air and beautiful scenery!
4. Can you tell us something about your organization that people don’t know but should?
Our local Intermountain Division has set three pillars of focus for our community connections — hunger relief, health and nutrition, and education. The health and nutrition pillar provides a natural partnership with the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health. The pillar’s mission is “to help our customers and the community live a healthier lifestyle with a focus on how they are taking care of themselves and what they are eating.”
5. What is on your wish list for promoting children to be active and healthy eaters?
To empower kids to pick out healthy foods and be able to prepare easy, healthy snacks and meals on their own. I want to inspire healthy eaters to truly enjoy their food — good food should be enjoyed!
